A few feedback loop pattern experiments using Touch Designer.

Visual experimentation is at the centre of my personal creative work. Lately I’ve been diving deep into feedback loop patterns using TouchDesigner. These experiments play with evolving time based compositions that take on a life of their own.  The feedback loops allow for an organic interplay of elements, where each frame builds upon the last. I can then input almost anything I can think of. That’s part of the beauty of how Touch Designer works. Anything in and anything out.
I’ve compiled these and other feedback loop experiments into a short video.

Where I might take this exploration next.

I’m going to incorporate video inputs into these feedback loops, introducing more organic motion and colour variation. I believe this will open up new possibilities, blending real-world textures with the digital distortions I’ve been experimenting with.

I would love to create these but in a live 3D engine. TouchDesigner could do this I guess, using particles. But I am not sure how I would start to go about this. Any suggestions with Touch designer or other app would be very helpful? Perhaps even live audio visual input tech. Does anyone use Kinect or have any other suggestions?
